Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage
Elk & Elk sponsors heritage exhibit in Beechwood, Ohio
Elk & Elk is proud to sponsor the world premiere of Traitor! Spies, Lies and Justice Denied at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Beachwood, Ohio.
The exhibit examines the world’s first “trial of the century” that sentenced Jewish army officer Alfred Dreyfus to life imprisonment on Devil’s Island on trumped up charges of treason. Fueled by government misinformation and anti-Semitism, the entire media spectacle was orchestrated in the name of national security. The case had a global impact, tarnishing France’s reputation, sowing the seeds of future wars and even indirectly inspiring the birth of the modern Zionist movement.
The exhibition vividly recaptures the atmosphere of Paris in the 1890s through original materials, photographs, music and films of the era.
TRAITOR! Spies, Lies and Justice Denied: The Dreyfus Affair is on display through January 5, 2014 during regular museum hours.
