Race for the Place 2016
Support The Gathering Place at Race for the Place 2016!
On Sunday, June 5, Elk & Elk will once again join The Gathering Place in celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day® at Race for the Place.
The annual event, presented by University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, attracts more than 4,000 participants. Race for the Place proceeds support the various free programs and services offered by The Gathering Place to individuals battling cancer, their families and support systems.
Those interested in participating in the Race for the Place 2016 can register as an individual or form a team. Registration fees for the 5K are $18 for ages 6 to 15, and $25 for ages 16 and up. Fees for the 1 mile are $15 for ages 6 to 15, and $20 for ages 16 and up. Prices increase on June 1.

In the event of rain, Race for the Place will be set up in the lower level parking deck on the south side of Beachwood Place.
7:30 a.m. – Race Day Registration
8:00 a.m. – Celebration Village & Family Activities
8:45 a.m. – Survivor Ceremony
9:00 a.m. – Start of 5K and 1 Mile
10:15 a.m. – Awards Ceremony
NOTE: 5K participants must be registered by 8:30 a.m. to have their race timed.

The Gathering Place opened in January 2000 as a nonprofit, community-based cancer support center to fill an unmet need in the greater Cleveland community. The programs and services offered address the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their support network.
