As the presenting partner of Military Salutes, we‘re excited to celebrate active-duty military members and veterans throughout the NHL season.
This month’s Military Salute recognizes Andrea Sutphin

- Military Bio
- Staff Sergeant Sutphin served as an in-flight refueler on the KC-10 aircraft.
- During her six years of service, she was deployed five times.
- On one deployment, she was a member of an all-female flight crew, which the group nicknamed “The Unmanned Flight.”
- Staff Sergeant Sutphin graduated in the top one percent of her class at Airman Leadership School.
- She was awarded the John Levitow Award, the highest honor presented to a graduate of Air Force enlisted professional military education. This occurred while she was pregnant with her first son!

- She is married to a fellow airman named Ryan. Together, they have three sons.
- After leaving the Air Force, Staff Sergeant Sutphin went back to school for nursing.
- She currently works as an inpatient oncology nurse and clinical educator at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.
