Everything Earned Athletic Award – Westlake High School
Congratulations to the Westlake H.S. Girls Soccer Team!
Elk & Elk is very excited to announce the winner of our May 2016 Everything Earned Athletic Award.
Elk & Elk recently rewarded the hard work and dedication of the Westlake High School Girls Soccer team with $1,000 to benefit their program. The Lady Demons will be putting the money toward soccer shelters, which will be purchased next season with help from other generous supporters.
“What we think of as amazing is their everyday normal,” says Elk & Elk Partner Jay Kelley of the Westlake High School Girls Soccer team.
In the classroom, each member of the program carries a GPA above 4.0. The Lady Demons competed in 11 of the past 13 district finals, and have been recognized 11 times as a 1st Team Scholastic All-American Team. The girls are also active in the community, taking time out of their busy schedules to make blankets for nursing home residents and participate in events like Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.
According to Head Coach Scott Jones, the track record of success doesn’t end when the girls graduate from high school. Former players have gone on to work for organizations like Google, Amazon and the Cleveland Indians.
About Elk & Elk’s Everything Earned Athletic Award
The Everything Earned Athletic Award offers deserving high school teams in Northeast Ohio the chance to earn $1,000 courtesy of Elk & Elk. The program was launched in the fall of 2015, and dozens of athletic directors from area high schools proudly nominated teams from a wide variety of sports to represent their school. Each month, Elk & Elk will select one team to receive a $1,000 award to benefit their program.
