The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) recently announced that 13 paralegal professionals met the requirements to earn the designation of “OSBA Certified Paralegal,” joining the 246 current OSBA certified paralegals across Ohio.
Elk & Elk wants to congratulate our very own Jaime Greene, who earned her certification.
“Congratulations to all our newly-certified paralegals,” said OSBA President Linda Tucci Teodosio. “Paralegals are integral to the practice of law. Those who voluntarily participate in the OSBA’s rigorous certification program set themselves apart, gaining additional skills, knowledge and expertise, as well as earning a valuable credential that demonstrates their commitment to excellence.”
By definition, a paralegal is a person, qualified by education, training or work experience, who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible.
To be eligible for the OSBA paralegal certification program, an applicant must meet specified requirements related to education/experience, continuing legal education, and references, and then must pass a written exam.
